Muslim Matching Terms of Use
Last updated: 1 November 2026
Summary
- These Terms are the agreement between you and Boring Businesses, LLC, which runs Muslim Matching. When you continue at sign-in, you accept them.
- Muslim Matching is for adults (18 or older) who are looking for marriage in a halal way: profiles without photos, structured vetting, no chat, and the walī at the end.
- We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Our filter blocks contact details, plans to meet, and flirting, sexual or abusive language. No filter catches everything, so you can also report or block anyone from the "⋯" menu. We check reports every day and act on every report within 24 hours.
- We do not check IDs and we do not run background checks. Take care, and involve your family and your walī.
- Premium is a subscription that Apple or Google bills. It renews automatically until you cancel it in your store settings. Deleting your account does not cancel it.
- Sisters who cannot afford Premium can get it free by oath.
- You can delete your account in the app at any time.
1. About these Terms
- Who we are: Boring Businesses, LLC, a limited liability company registered in Delaware, USA ("we", "us"). We run Muslim Matching. In the App Store, the app's seller appears as "Boring Businesses LLC". Our contact details are in section 16.
- How you accept these Terms: when you continue at sign-in, you accept these Terms and the EULA. If you do not agree, do not use Muslim Matching.
- The EULA: our EULA page explains the licence for the app. For the iPhone app, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement applies.
- Your privacy: our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. It is not part of this agreement, and accepting these Terms is not consent to anything in it. You give consent for sensitive details, such as your faith, when you choose to add them to your profile (Privacy Policy section 4).
- Your rights as a consumer: nothing in these Terms takes away rights that you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live.
2. Who can use Muslim Matching
- You must be 18 or older. The app does not accept a date of birth that makes you younger than 18.
- You must use Muslim Matching only to look for a spouse.
- You must follow the laws that apply to you, including the marriage laws of the country where you live.
- You must give true information about yourself, including your age, gender and marital status.
- You may have only one account. Do not use someone else's account, and do not let anyone else use yours.
- If we removed you from Muslim Matching, you must not create a new account.
3. Your account
- You sign in with your email address (we send you a 6-digit code), with Apple or with Google. Keep your email account and your Apple or Google account secure. You are responsible for what happens in your Muslim Matching account.
- You can set your gender and date of birth only once. If you made a mistake, contact support.
- Keep your profile true and up to date. You can change most answers in You → Edit profile.
- Tell us at once if you think someone else is using your account.
4. How Muslim Matching works
- Cards: your card shows your answers and an avatar that you build. It never shows photos.
- Browse: you see the cards of members of the opposite gender. You choose who can see your card (You → Settings → Who can see my profile), and you can take a break (You → Settings → Manage account).
- Requests: on the free plan, you can send up to 3 match requests in each calendar month. A request that nobody answers within 30 days expires. When you receive a request on the free plan, you see only the sender's first name, age and country. To see the sender's full card and accept the request, you need Premium.
- Matches and vetting: when a request is accepted, you each write Profile Feedback on the other's full profile, and then read each other's feedback. Next, you go through five vetting phases: Deal Breakers, Worldview, Marriage Views, Lifestyle and Next Steps.
- Deadlines: each move has 24 hours. Answering a concern has 48 hours. If neither of you writes Profile Feedback within 7 days, the match closes. When a deadline passes, the match closes.
- Ending a match: either of you can end a match. During vetting, you must give a short reason, and the other person sees it. A match that has closed cannot be reopened. With Premium, you can ask for one rematch for each match that ended or expired; the other person needs Premium to accept it.
- The walī: when you both finish all five phases and both choose to move forward to the walī, the brother receives the sister's walī's name, phone number and relationship. This is the only contact detail that Muslim Matching passes on.
- No chat: the app has no chat, no calls and no photos.
- What we do not promise: we do not promise that you will find a match or get married.
5. Premium and payments
What Premium includes
Today, Premium lets you see the full card of people who sent you a request, accept requests, send as many requests as you like, and ask for rematches. The Premium screen in the app shows what Premium includes before you buy.
Billing
- You buy Premium through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google). The store takes the payment, and its terms apply to the payment.
- The price and the length of each period show in the app and in the store before you buy. Prices can differ between countries.
- Auto-renewal: Premium renews automatically at the end of each period, and the store charges you again, until you cancel. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- How to cancel:
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Muslim Matching → Cancel Subscription. See Apple's help page.
- Android: Google Play → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Muslim Matching → Cancel subscription. See Google's help page.
- After you cancel, Premium stays active until the end of the period that you paid for.
- Deleting your account, or deleting the app, does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it in your store settings first.
- Refunds follow the store's rules. For App Store purchases, only Apple can give a refund: ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play purchases, ask Google Play; you can also contact us. Your legal rights as a consumer still apply.
- Price changes: if the price of your subscription changes, the store tells you before you pay the new price.
- New phone: Premium belongs to your Muslim Matching account. On a new phone, sign in to the same account and use You → Settings → Restore purchases.
The sisters' oath
- On the Premium screen, a sister can tap "I can't afford Premium" and affirm: "I affirm by Allah that I cannot afford Muslim Matching Premium." She then gets Premium free.
- We trust the oath and do not ask for proof. Premium by oath has no end date and no store subscription, so there is nothing to cancel.
- The oath is only for sisters. We may remove Premium by oath if it is misused.
Your Premium badge
When you have Premium, by subscription or by oath, other members see a "VIP" badge on your card.
6. Community rules
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. If you break these rules, we remove the content, and we may remove you from Muslim Matching without warning.
You must not:
- Harass, threaten, bully, insult or intimidate anyone.
- Post hate speech, or attack anyone for their race, ethnicity, sect, background or beliefs.
- Post sexual or flirty content, or anything indecent.
- Share contact details, such as phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles or links, or ask for them. The walī handoff at the end is the only way that contact details are passed on.
- Arrange to meet through the app outside the walī route.
- Lie about yourself, pretend to be someone else, or create a fake profile.
- Use Muslim Matching if you are under 18, or help anyone under 18 to use it.
- Ask for money, gifts or financial details, run scams, or advertise products, services or other apps.
- Copy, screenshot, post or share another member's information, answers or walī details outside the app. The only exception is the share button in Browse, which shares a first name only.
- Use a walī's contact details for anything other than a proper marriage enquiry, or contact a family in a way that they do not want.
- Try to get around the filter, for example by writing numbers as words or by hiding contact details.
- Post anything illegal, or use the app for anything illegal.
- Make false reports.
- Use bots or scrapers, hack the app or its servers, or interfere with them; or copy or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
7. Safety tools, reports and what we do
- The filter: before a text that other members can see is saved, our filter checks it. This covers your name, bio, profession, education, profile answers, Profile Feedback, vetting answers, concerns and clarifications, end-of-match reasons and rematch reasons. The filter has two automatic steps. First, fixed rules and a word list check the text. If they find nothing, an AI model (Claude, from Anthropic) checks it. The AI model does not see your name. If the AI check is not available, only the first step runs. The filter blocks contact details, plans to meet, and flirting, sexual or abusive language, and tells you why. It also blocks a text that the AI model declines to judge or cannot answer clearly, and asks you to rephrase it. The filter decides only about what you are saving. It never suspends an account; a person decides that. Our Privacy Policy (section 13) explains what the AI model receives. No filter catches everything, so reports remain our backstop: please report anything that the filter misses.
- Report: on every screen that shows another member, tap "⋯" → Report. Choose a reason: "Rude, threatening or hateful", "Sexual or flirty", "Asked for or shared contact details", "Fake or misleading profile", "Under 18" or "Something else". You can add details (up to 1,000 characters); for "Something else", details are required. Sending a report also blocks the person. Only our team sees your report, and the person is not told about it.
- Block: tap "⋯" → Block. You stop seeing each other, and any request or match between you ends. The other person is not told; if you had a match, they see "This match has ended." To undo a block, go to You → Settings → Profiles I've blocked → Unblock. A match that ended stays ended.
- Contact us: you can also write to us in You → Help & support, or email support@muslim-matching.com.
- What we do with reports: our team checks new reports every day and reviews every report. We act on every report within 24 hours. If the reported content breaks these Terms, we remove the content, and we remove the user who posted it from Muslim Matching. We can also act without a report.
- Removing a user: when we remove a user, we suspend their account. Their card disappears, their requests are withdrawn, and their matches end. A person on our team makes this decision; no machine suspends an account. For serious or repeated breaches, we may close the account for good.
- If you think we made a mistake: a suspended account cannot use Help in the app, so email support@muslim-matching.com. A person will review your case and reply.
- Emergencies: if someone is in danger, contact the police or emergency services first.
8. Staying safe
- We do not check IDs, and we do not run criminal background checks. We do not confirm anyone's age, identity, marital status, religion or anything else that members say about themselves.
- Involve your family and your walī. If you meet someone, meet in a safe, public place, with family present, as the walī process intends.
- Never send money to someone you met through the app.
- Report anything that worries you.
9. Your content
- It is yours: you own what you write.
- The permission you give us: you let us and our service providers store, show, copy, check and delete your content, only to run Muslim Matching and as our Privacy Policy describes. This permission ends when your content is deleted. Copies in backups, and copies that a service provider keeps for a limited time (for example after the AI check), last until they expire. Some content stays visible to other members, as the Privacy Policy explains.
- Your responsibility: you are responsible for what you write. Share only what you have the right to share. Do not share other people's private information. The exception is your walī's details: you may add them only with his agreement, which you confirm in the app.
- Ideas: if you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without paying you.
10. Our app
- The app, its design, its texts and its name belong to us or to our licensors. You may use the app for your own personal use under these Terms and the EULA. You must not copy it, sell it or misuse it.
- We may add, change or remove features.
- We work to keep the app available, but we cannot promise that it will always work without interruptions or errors.
11. Ending your use
- Take a break: You → Settings → Manage account → Take a break. This hides your card and stops new requests. Matches that you are vetting carry on.
- Delete your account: You → Settings → Manage account → Delete account. This happens at once and cannot be undone. Cancel any subscription first.
- If we end your use: we may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect members. If we stop running Muslim Matching, we will tell you in advance.
- Sections 9, 12, 14 and 15 continue to apply after your account ends.
12. Our responsibility to you
- We provide Muslim Matching as it is. As far as the law allows, we make no promises about it other than those in these Terms.
- As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for what members do, in the app or outside it.
- As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost opportunities.
- As far as the law allows, our total responsibility to you is limited to the greater of: the amount you paid for Premium in the 12 months before the claim, and USD 100.
- What we never limit: responsibility that the law does not let us limit. Examples are fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and, where the law protects you, gross negligence or intent. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you also keep the legal rights that apply where you live.
- Your responsibility: if you break these Terms and this causes a claim against us, you are responsible for the costs, as far as the law allows.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when we change features or when the law changes. We will tell you about important changes before they take effect, by email or in the app. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before the changes take effect. If you keep using Muslim Matching after that, the new Terms apply.
14. Law and disputes
- The laws of the State of Delaware, USA, govern these Terms.
- If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.
- In all other cases, the courts of the State of Delaware, USA, decide disputes about these Terms.
- Please contact us first. We can solve most problems quickly.
15. General
- If a court decides that part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a right at once, we have not given it up.
- We may transfer these Terms to a company that takes over Muslim Matching. Your rights under these Terms stay the same. You may not transfer your account.
- These Terms and the EULA are the whole agreement between you and us about Muslim Matching. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
- If these Terms and the EULA conflict about the licence to use the app, the EULA applies to that point.
